How long can respite care last?

Anything from a few hours a week to several weeks of full cover. Many families use regular weekly respite alongside one or two longer breaks each year.

Can respite care be arranged quickly?

We always try to help at short notice, for example when a family carer falls ill. Contact our Benfleet team and we will tell you honestly what we can arrange and how quickly.

Will you follow our existing routines?

Yes. Before care begins we record routines, preferences, meals and medication prompts in a care plan, so days feel familiar and reassuring while the family carer is away.

Is taking a break really okay?

Yes, and it matters. Regular breaks protect a family carer's own health and help them keep caring well for longer. Arranging respite is a responsible, loving choice, not letting anyone down.
